Methodist Church Property Trust Amendment

Amends the Wesleyan Methodist Church Property Trust Act 1887 by removing the term “Wesleyan” from the principal Act and subsequent amendment Acts. The bill also seeks to validate the holding of land by the church which has been held in ways other than by trustees under the Wesleyan Methodist Model Deed of New Zealand 1887. The bill would authorise the present and future holdings of lands either by trustees under the Model Deed, or with the approval of the Conference of the Church, by any church board incorporated under the Charitable Trusts Act 1957, or in any such other manner as approved by the conference.
