State Sector Act 1988

Appointment of Acting Deputy State Services Commissioner

Pursuant to section 14 of the State Sector Act 1988 (as substituted by section 3 of the State Sector Amendment Act (No. 2) 1989), Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, and on the recommendation of the Acting Prime Minister, has been pleased to appoint

Joan Fleming of Wellington

to be the Acting Deputy State Services Commissioner on 22 March 1993 and thereafter for the completion of any activity undertaken by her on that day.

Traffic Regulations 1976

Approval of Motorcycle Safety Helmets

Pursuant to subclause (1) of regulation 88 of the Traffic Regulations 1976, and pursuant to powers delegated to me by the Secretary for Transport, I, Hugh Cameron Matheson, hereby approve safety helmets of the type described in the Schedule hereto, for the purposes of regulation 31 of the said regulations.

Schedule

Safety helmets manufactured by AGV, Italy, bearing the certification mark of the Snell Memorial Foundation M90, and bearing the model designation:

Answer M-10.

Exemption From Trailer Breakaway Requirement

Pursuant to regulation 90, subclause (1) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, the Secretary for Transport, hereby exempts the specified class of motor vehicles specified below from the requirements of regulation 83 (b) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, provided that those vehicles comply with the conditions below.

Specified Class:

Any passenger service vehicle that is a heavy passenger service vehicle in accordance with the exemption St281192 “Exemption From Specified Requirements of the Passenger Service Vehicle Construction Regulations 1978”: dated 20 November 1992.

Conditions:

  1. The trailer has a gross vehicle mass less than 3500 kgs.

  2. The trailer complies with section 4.5.1 of the amendment to St281192, dated 18 December 1992; which is available from the Manager, Vehicle Standards, P.O. Box 27459, Wellington.

Transport Act 1962

The Traffic (Whakatane District) Notice No. 1, 1993

Pursuant to the Transport Act 1962, a delegation from the Minister of Transport, and a subdelegation from the Secretary for Transport dated the 16th day of November 1992, I, John Paul Edgar, Senior Traffic Engineer, give the following notice:

Notice

This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Whakatane District) Notice No. 1, 1993.

The area specified in the First Schedule is declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

The roads specified in the Second Schedule are declared to be 70 kilometre an hour speed limit areas pursuant to regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976.

The Traffic (Whakatane District) Notice No. 1, 1986, signed on the 7th day of January 1986*, issued pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, is revoked.

First Schedule

Situated within Whakatane District at Piripai:

All that area bounded by a line commencing at a point on the north-eastern side of Bunyan Road at its intersection with the south-eastern side of Ohuirehe Road; thence northerly, generally, along the eastern side of Ohuirehe Road to its northern end; thence due north by a right line to the shore of the Bay of Plenty; thence north-westerly, generally, along the shore of the Bay of Plenty to a point due north of the western end of Marlin Drive; thence due south by a right line to the western end of Marlin Drive; thence southerly, generally, by a right line to a point on the north-western side of Fishermans Drive at its intersection with the north-eastern side of Bunyan Road; thence south-easterly, generally, along the north-eastern side of Bunyan Road to the commencing point.

Second Schedule

Situated within Whakatane District at Ruatoki:

Reid Road: from a point 100 metres measured northerly, generally, along Reid Road from Ruatoki Valley Road to Ruatoki Valley Road.

Ruatoki Valley Road: from Reid Road to a point 1250 metres measured southerly, generally, along the said road from Ohotu Road.
