Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Manurewa
Pursuant to sections 146 and 155 of the Education Act 1989, the Minister of Education hereby gives the following notice:
Notice

This notice may be cited as Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Manurewa.

This notice shall come into force on the day after the date of its publication in the Gazette.

I hereby establish at Manurewa, Auckland, a primary school called Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Manurewa, and I hereby designate the school as a kura kaupapa Maori.
-
Aims, purposes and objectives of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Manurewa.
Together with the use of te reo Maori as the principal language of instruction the following aims, purposes and objectives constitute the character of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Manurewa:
(i) To secure the revival and survival of the Maori language, tradition and culture.
(ii) To base all teaching and learning on the philosophy of Te Aho Matua.
(iii) To provide for Maori language extension from Kohanga Reo beginnings.
(iv) To promote an education that fulfills the aspirations of parents for their children’s overall physical, mental, and spiritual development.
(v) To produce bilingual and bicultural citizens of Aotearoa.
- Constitution of the Board of Trustees—The board of trustees of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Manurewa shall comprise:
(a) Five people appointed by the Minister;
(b) The principal, or principal designate;
(c) Not more than four persons co-opted by the board.

This notice shall come into force on the day after the date of its publication in the Gazette.

I hereby establish at Taupo, a primary school called Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Whakarewa Te Reo, and I hereby designate the school as a kura kaupapa Maori.

Aims, purposes and objectives of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Whakarewa Te Reo.
Together with the use of te reo Maori as the principal language of instruction the following aims, purposes and objectives constitute the character of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Whakarewa Te Reo:
(i) To support and reinforce the principles and philosophies of Te Aho Matua.
(ii) To promote and support the principles and intentions of the Treaty of Waitangi.
(iii) To maintain and develop te reo Maori.
(iv) To ensure that the learning environment encompasses the wider community.
(v) To serve the ongoing developmental language needs of children from kohanga reo.
- Constitution of the Board of Trustees—The board of trustees of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Whakarewa Te Reo shall comprise:
(a) Five people appointed by the Minister;
(b) The principal, or principal designate;
(c) Not more than four persons co-opted by the board.

Pursuant to sections 146 and 155 of the Education Act 1989, the Minister of Education hereby gives the following notice:

This notice may be cited as Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Nga Taonga Tuturu Ki Tokomaru.

This notice shall come into force on the day after the date of its publication in the Gazette.

I hereby establish at Tokomaru Bay, a primary school called Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Nga Taonga Tuturu Ki Tokomaru, and I hereby designate the school as a kura kaupapa Maori.

Aims, purposes and objectives of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Nga Taonga Tuturu Ki Tokomaru.
Together with the use of te reo Maori as the principal language of instruction the following aims, purposes and objectives constitute the character of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Nga Taonga Tuturu Ki Tokomaru:
(i) To develop a high degree of self-esteem, a sense of pride, self-respect and confidence.
(ii) To encourage students to work to their potential and to support others.
(iii) To ensure a high level of competence in the Maori language, to understand its spiritual nature, and to value the acquisition of educational and vocational skills.
(iv) To cultivate an awareness of the place of the individual in society and to enhance the importance of cultural diversity.
- Constitution of the Board of Trustees—The board of trustees of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Nga Taonga Tuturu Ki Tokomaru shall comprise:
(a) Five people appointed by the Minister;
(b) The principal, or principal designate;
(c) Not more than four persons co-opted by the board.

Dissolving of Pipiriki School Board of Trustees and Appointment of Commissioner to Pipiriki School
Pursuant to section 106 (1) (aa) of the Education Act 1989, as inserted by section 24 of the Education Amendment Act 1990, for the reason that so many casual vacancies have arisen that there is no longer any member of the board who is eligible to preside at meetings, I hereby dissolve the Pipiriki School Board of Trustees and appoint Bob Penetito as Commissioner to act in its place.
This notice shall come into force after the date of this notification in the Gazette.
