Notice

  1. (a) This notice may be cited as the Water Recreation (Papamoa Beach, Bay of Plenty) Notice 1993.

(b) This notice shall come into force 14 days after publication in the New Zealand Gazette and shall remain in force until revoked by further notice in the New Zealand Gazette.

  1. Subject to the conditions set forth in the Second Schedule hereto, the area specified in the First Schedule shall be reserved for the operation of rigid inflatable boats.

First Schedule

Any 200 metres of the beachfront and waters within 200 metres of the waters edge adjacent thereto and being part of Papamoa Beach being between Taylor Reserve in the east and the extension of Pacific View Road in the west.

Second Schedule

  1. All persons in charge of a vessel shall adhere to and keep the provisions of all Acts and regulations not specifically exempted by this notice.

  2. The area to be used for the operation of rigid inflatable boats shall be determined on a day to day basis taking into account other users of the beach, surf conditions and any other matters that impact on the navigation and safety aspects of the operation.

  3. The area being used shall be marked by a suitable notice erected near the waters edge at either end of the said area.

Summary of Exemptions by Director of Civil Aviation

Pursuant to section 37 of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, notification is hereby given of a summary of exemptions, set out in the Schedule hereto, granted by the Director of Civil Aviation.

Schedule

Number of exemptions granted: Two.

Nature of exemptions granted:

Docket 5001. To Air New Zealand. Civil Aviation Rule 139.305 (5). While using any place that is outside New Zealand for the purpose of landing or taking off from for period from 6 January 1993 to 5 January 1994. Dated 15 December 1992.

Docket 5002. Applicants for pilot licences. Civil Aviation Rules 61.153 (a) (6) (v), 61.203 (6) (vii) and 61.253 (5) (vi) and (vii). From the requirements to have passed approved written examinations in human factors and performance and systems knowledge; from 1 July 1993 to 31 December 1993. Dated 19 May 1993.

The docket files are available for inspection at the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand, 1 Market Grove, Lower Hutt.

Game Industry Board Regulations 1985

Game Industry Levy

Pursuant to regulation 17 (3) of the Game Industry Board Regulations 1985, notice is given that the Game Industry Board hereby fixed the rates of game industry levy (which levy rates are exclusive of goods and services tax imposed by the Goods and Services Tax Act 1985) as follows:

(a) On each deer slaughtered in deer slaughtering premises, 30 cents per kilogram hot clean carcass weight after removal of condemned parts;

(b) On each killed game deer carcass received at a game packing house, zero cents per kilogram cold clean carcass weight after removal of condemned parts;

(c) On each piece of antler from fallow deer received at a game packing house for processing or packing $1.16 per kilogram green weight; and

(d) On each piece of antler from deer other than fallow deer received at a game packing house for processing or packing $3.50 per kilogram green weight.

No levy will be payable when the velvet grade value, as defined by the Industry Agreed Grading Standards, is less than or equal to $15/kg (G.S.T. exclusive).

An Animal Health levy will be collected by DSP’s and velvet processors and is incorporated into the levy structure as outlined above. The levy will be broken down as follows:

GIB levy

  • venison 26 cents per kg
  • velvet (fallow) $1.00 per kg
  • velvet (other) $3.00 per kg

Animal Health levy

  • venison 4 cents per kg
  • velvet (fallow) 16 cents per kg
  • velvet (other) 50 cents per kg

Companies will not in future be required to collect levies on Tb reactors but will be required to report the number of reactor deer slaughtered to the GIB in their monthly returns. The levy will be waived for those Tb reactors
