Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Takapau
Pursuant to sections 146 and 155 of the Education Act 1989, the Minister of Education hereby gives the following notice:

This notice may be cited as Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Takapau.

This notice shall come into force on the 31st day of January 1994.

I hereby establish at Takapau, a primary school called Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Takapau, and I hereby designate the school as a kura kaupapa Maori.

Aims, purposes and objectives of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Takapau.
Together with the use of te reo Maori as the principal language of instruction, the following aims, purposes and objectives constitute the character of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Takapau:
(i) To preserve the Maori language and culture.
(ii) To provide for children from kohanga reo.
(iii) To provide an environment in which children strive for excellence.
(iv) To validate traditional Maori knowledge and pedagogy within all aspects of the school curriculum.
(v) To produce bicultural and biliterate children.
(vi) To prepare children towards making a positive contribution to New Zealand society.

I hereby establish at Whatawhiwhi, Kaitaia, a primary school called Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Rangiawhia, and I hereby designate the school as a kura kaupapa Maori.

Aims, purposes and objectives of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Rangiawhia.
Together with the use of te reo Maori as the principal language of instruction, the following aims, purposes and objectives constitute the character of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Rangiawhia:
(i) To educate children in an environment that encompasses taha wairua, tikanga Ngati Kahu and tikanga Maori, while incorporating the knowledge and technology of the modern world.
(ii) To base the kawa and functions of the school on Ngati Kahu tradition and tikanga.
(iii) To base the philosophy of the school on the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and biculturalism.
(iv) To provide for the on-going educational development of children in the Maori language.
