Animals Act 1967
Notice to Abolish Special Quarantine Grounds at Takapuna (Notice No. 5288)
Pursuant to section 11A(2) of the Animals Act 1967, the Director-General of Agriculture and Fisheries gives notice abolishing a special quarantine ground declared on the piece of land described in the attached Schedule.
This notice revokes “Notice to Set Apart and Define a Special Quarantine Ground at Takapuna (Notice No. 4891; Qual/0996/FBT)” published in the New Zealand Gazette on 16 February 1989, Issue No. 27 at page 737.
Schedule
The land on S. Dorrington’s property, 73B Langana Avenue, Brown’s Bay, Auckland, being 1086 square metres, more or less, being Lot 1, Deposited Plan 99385 and being part Allotment 253, Parish of Takapuna.

Notice of Appointment of Member of the Wairarapa Business Development Board
Pursuant to section 11 of the Business Development Boards Act 1991, the Minister of Business Development is pleased to appoint
Tom Gemmell, retired of Carterton
as a member of the Wairarapa Business Development Board for the period commencing on the 9th day of September 1993 and expiring with the close of the 31st day of January 1994.

Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Te Whanganui-a-Tara
Pursuant to sections 146 and 155 of the Education Act 1989, the Minister of Education hereby gives the following notice:
Notice

This notice may be cited as Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Te Whanganui-a-Tara.

This notice shall come into force on the 31st day of January 1994.

I hereby establish at Coromandel Street, Wellington, a primary school called Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Te Whanganui-a-Tara, and I hereby designate the school as a kura kaupapa Maori.

Aims, purposes and objectives of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Te Whanganui-a-Tara.
Together with the use of te reo Maori as the principal language of instruction, the following aims, purposes and objectives constitute the character of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Te Whanganui-a-Tara:
(i) To aim for excellence of achievement in all aspects of education.
(ii) To provide a learning environment that is culturally appropriate.
(iii) To provide for the overall development of children in terms of taha wairua, taha hinengaro, taha tinana, and taha whanaungatanga.
(iv) To involve the whanau in all decision-making.
- Constitution of the Board of Trustees—The board of trustees of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Te Whanganui-a-Tara shall comprise:
(a) Five people appointed by the Minister;
(b) The principal, or principal designate;
(c) Not more than four persons co-opted by the board.

I hereby establish at New Plymouth a primary school called Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Te Pi’ipi’inga Kakano Mai Rangiatea, and I hereby designate the school as a kura kaupapa Maori.

Aims, purposes and objectives of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Te Pi’ipi’inga Kakano Mai Rangiatea.
Together with the use of te reo Maori as the principal language of instruction, the following aims, purposes and objectives constitute the character of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Te Pi’ipi’inga Kakano Mai Rangiatea:
(i) To extend the principles of Te Kohanga Reo in the immersion of children in their own language and in their own distinct tikanga.
(ii) To strive for excellence and to aim to produce strong individuals, confident and competent in their own culture and language.
(iii) To provide a nurturing environment which is distinctly Maori and which reflects Maori values.
(iv) To utilise the wider learning environment of the community.
(v) To aim at enhancing the development of each child so
