Traffic Regulations 1976

Approval of Brake Testing Machine

Pursuant to regulation 88 of the Traffic Regulations 1976 and pursuant to the powers delegated to me by the Secretary for Transport by an instrument of delegation dated 16 November 1992, I, Peter William Bowen, Senior Automotive Engineer, hereby approve the brake testing machines of the type described in the Schedule hereto, for use under regulation 68(5) of the Traffic Regulations 1976 and subject to the conditions of approval set out in the Schedule hereto.

Schedule

HPA Roller Brake Machine, Models 1604 and 2313-MK, manufactured by H.P. Andersen Engineering Limited of Denmark.

Conditions of Approval:

  1. Each machine is to be provided with an accurate means of expressing the sum of the individual braking forces measured at each wheel and expressing it as a percentage of the vehicle’s weight.

  2. The supplier shall provide a calibration service that is readily available to the users of these brake testing machines.

  3. Access to the brake testing equipment is to be provided as required, for any person so authorised by the Secretary of Transport, for the purpose of checking the accuracy of the testing equipment.

Transport Act 1962

The Traffic (Grey District) Notice No. 1, 1993

Pursuant to the Transport Act 1962, a delegation from the Minister of Transport, and a subdelegation from the Secretary for Transport dated the 16th day of November 1992, I, John Paul Edgar, Manager Road and Traffic Standards, give the following notice:

This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Grey District) Notice No. 1, 1993.

The roads specified in the First Schedule are declared to be closely populated localities for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

The road specified in the Second Schedule is declared to be a 70 kilometres an hour speed limit area pursuant to regulation 21(2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976.

The Fourth Schedule of the Traffic (Grey District) Notice No. 1, 1990*, signed on the 3rd day of September, 1990, issued pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and regulation 21(2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, is hereby revoked.

First Schedule

SITUATED within Grey District at Southbeach, Paroa, and Gladstone:

Clough Road.

Coulson Road.

Fern Valley Road.

Hebbard Road.

Keith Road.

Ogilvie Road.

Osmond Road.

Thomas Road.

Trickies Road.

Second Schedule

SITUATED within Grey District at Paroa:

Rutherglen Road: from No. 6 State Highway (Blenheim-Invercargill via Nelson and Greymouth) at Paroa to a point 60 metres measured easterly, generally, along Rutherglen Road from the Shantytown turn-off.
