8. Transport

8.1 In the case of horse/s originating from the tick areas of Queensland the vehicle carrying the animals from the approved stables to the port of embarkation has been disinfected using a product approved for this purpose.

8.2 The containers used to transport the animals to New Zealand and the compartments of the aircraft/vessel to be occupied by them were cleaned and disinfected since last carrying animals other than to/from New Zealand or Australia.

8.3 The bedding used in the transport containers is sterilised peat, soft board or other inert approved product. (Note—the use of hay, straw or bark containing materials is not permitted)

8.4 In the case of transport by:

8.4.1 AIR; the container/s meet the design principles published in the IATA Live Animal Regulations.

8.4.2 SEA; the transport facilities and arrangements have been inspected and meet the requirements of the Australian Marine Orders Part 43, Issue 2.
