Redefining Purposes of Maori Reservation

Notice is hereby given that pursuant to section 439 (5) (c) of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the purposes for which the Maori reservation was in respect of the land described in the Schedule hereto, created by notice dated 31 October 1972, published in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 89, page 2359, are hereby redefined as a Maori reservation for the purpose of a meeting place and papakainga for the common use of the followers of Erueti Te Whiti and Te Tohu Kakahi.

Setting Apart Maori Land as a Maori Reservation

Notice is hereby given that by virtue of section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, and pursuant to a recommendation of the Maori Land Court, the land described in the Schedule hereto, is hereby set apart as a Maori reservation for the purpose of an urupa for the common use and benefit of the descendants of Wharepouri Whanatangi.

Notice Redefining the Persons or Class of Persons for Whose Use and Benefit a Maori Reservation is Set Apart

Whereas, by Order in Council of 26 June 1969 published in Gazette, 3 July 1969, No. 39, page 1225, the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto was set apart as a Maori reservation for the purpose of a meeting place, recreation ground and sports ground for the common use and benefit of the Maori people of New Zealand generally.

And whereas, on the 11th day of December 1975, New Zealand Gazette, No. 110, page 2940, the class of persons for whose benefit the reservation is constituted was redefined as being the people of Ngati Hinekura and Ngati Pikiao and the Maori people of New Zealand generally.

Now therefore, pursuant to section 439 (5) (d) of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, notice is hereby given redefining that the use and benefit of the said reservation be for the descendants of Morehu Te Kirikau and Ngati Hinekura.
