Charitable Trusts Act Notices

Notice of Application for Approval of a Scheme of Variation
In the matter of the Charitable Trust Act 1957, and in the matter of the Wakarewa School Trust Board Incorporated under the Charitable Trusts Act 1957, Part III, with its registered office at Nelson:

Notice is hereby given that the Wakarewa School Trust Board has applied to the High Court at Nelson, pursuant to the provisions of the Charitable Trusts Act 1957, for approval of a scheme of variation of the trusts under which lands were originally conveyed to the board. The scheme proposes that the board shall hold the trust’s property and income towards all or any of the following purposes:

(a) for the use and towards the establishment of a training centre for adolescents and young adults;

(b) for the provision of courses which for resident trainees will be of 1, 2 or 3 years duration and for shorter term block courses on specialised farm subjects related to shearing or fencing, cultural pursuits such as traditional Maori taiaha training and wero or outdoor pursuits;

(c) for the provision of non-residential courses or short term residential course to provide training for people of all ages;

(d) for the provision of training at the board’s property in subjects which are not readily subsumed under the rubrics of agricultural, industrial and religious training but are complementary to the programme and major courses;

(e) for the provision of opportunities for complementary training;

(f) for the provision of scholarships for residents;

(g) for the provision of scholarships for selected applicants not resident;

(h) for tuition in English language as required;

(i) for the purchase or erection of buildings to be utilised for the purpose of the trust;

(j) that in recognition of the original source of the trust lands
