National Rural Fire Advisory Committee

Establishment

Pursuant to section 12 of the Fire Service Act 1975, the New Zealand Fire Service Commission, as the National Rural Fire Authority, hereby gives notice of the establishment of the National Rural Fire Advisory Committee. Membership of the National Rural Fire Advisory Committee is hereby listed in the Schedule.

(1) The National Rural Fire Officer representing the National Rural Fire Authority, as Chairman.

(2) New Zealand Fire Service.

(3) Ministry of Forestry.

(4) New Zealand Defence Force.

(5) Federated Farmers of New Zealand Inc.

(6) New Zealand Local Government Association.

(7) New Zealand Forest Owners Association.

New Zealand Timberlands Rural Fire District Notice 1992

Pursuant to the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1977, the National Rural Fire Authority hereby makes the following notice.

Notice

  1. (1) This notice may be cited as the New Zealand Timberlands Rural Fire District Notice 1992.

(2) This notice shall come into force on the day after its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

  1. In this notice, unless the context otherwise requires, the “Act” means the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1977; the “Committee” means the New Zealand Timberlands Rural Fire Committee; “District” means the New Zealand Timberlands Rural Fire District.

Constitution of the New Zealand Timberlands Rural Fire District

  1. The areas specified in the Schedule to this notice are hereby constituted and declared to be a rural fire district to be known as the New Zealand Timberlands Rural Fire District.

  2. The New Zealand Timberlands Rural Fire District shall be administered for the purpose of the Act by a rural fire committee known as the New Zealand Timberlands Rural Fire Committee.

  3. The committee shall consist of four members as follows:

(a) Three persons appointed by the New Zealand Timberlands Limited, in writing, signed on behalf of that company by one director and the secretary thereof, and of whom one shall be appointed as Chairperson; and

(b) One person appointed by the New Zealand Local Government Association Incorporated, in writing, signed on behalf of that association by the president and the secretary thereof; and

(c) One person appointed, in writing, by the Director-General of the Department of Conservation.

  1. The trees and other plants on the land, described in the Schedule to this notice, are hereby specified as the property for the protection for which the district is constituted.

  2. The period between the 1st day of October in any year and the 30th day of September in the following year (both days inclusive) is hereby declared to be a restricted fire season in the district.

New Zealand Timberlands Rural Fire District

All that area in the North Auckland, South Auckland, Taranaki, Wellington, Gisborne, Nelson, Canterbury, Otago, and Southland Land Districts, Far North, Whangarei, Kaipara, Franklin, Otorohanga, Waitomo, Taupo, Stratford, Ruapehu, Wanganui, Horowhenua, Gisborne, Tasman, Mackenzie, Timaru, Waimate, Central Otago, Waitaki, Clutha, Southland Districts, Dunedin City and described generally as follows:

  1. Waipoua Forest—3500 hectares approximately, being the land edged green on a copy of S.O. Plan 65825, North Auckland Land District, and being Sections 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 16 and part Sections 2, 3, 6, 7, 11, 13, 14 and 15, Block I, Waipoua S.D., part Section 2, Block 11, Waipoua S.D., parts Section 1, Block V, Waipoua S.D., Section 2 and part Sections 1 and 5, Block VI, Waipoua S.D., Waipoua 2B3AIB, part Waipoua 2B3BIB, part Waipoua 2B3B2, Waipoua 2B3CI, part Waipoua 2B3DI, parts Waipoua 2B3E and parts Waipoua Block, more commonly known as Waipoua Forest.

  2. Glenbervie Forest and Hikurangi Agency—9375 hectares approximately, being the land edged green on a copy of S.O. Plan 65664 North Auckland Land District and a plan labelled Hikurangi Agency and being Lot 1, D.P. 136789, Lot 1, D.P. 136790, Lot 2, D.P. 136791, Lot 1, D.P. 136794, Lot 1, D.P. 136795, Lots 1 and 2, D.P. 136803, Lot 1, D.P. 137180, Lot 1, D.P. 137181, part Maruata 6 H and 7 B, parts Maruata 8, Lot 1 of Section 7, Sections 6 and 9, Block XVI, Hukerenui S.D. and part Allotment N.E. 49, Hikurangi Parish, more commonly known as Glenbervie Forest and Hikurangi Agency.

  3. Waitangi Forest and Waitangi Endowment Forest—2800 hectares approximately, being the land edged green on a copy of S.O. Plan 65663, North Auckland Land District and the plan labelled Waitangi Endowment Forest and being Lot 1, D.P. 136796, Lot 1, D.P. 137183, part Lot 1, D.P. 25368, Lot 1 and part Lot 2, D.P. 41211, Sections 7 and 20, Block III, Kawakawa S.D., part Sections 27 and 29 and Sections 28, 30 and 31, Block IV, Kawakawa S.D. and Allotment 42, Waitangi Parish, more commonly known as Waitangi Forest and Waitangi Endowment Forest.

  4. Mount Camel Lease Forest—900 hectares approximately, being the land edged green on the plan labelled Mount Camel Lease and being part Huhora Block, more commonly known as Mount Camel Lease forest.

  5. Waiuku Forest—1450 hectares approximately, being the land edged green on a copy of S.O. Plan 65669, North Auckland Land District and being Lots 1 and 2, D.P. 136551, Allotment 362, Waiuku West Parish, Section 98, parts Section 99 and part Section 100, Block VII, Maioro Survey District, more commonly known as Waiuku Forest.
