Civil Aviation Act 1990
Directive to the Civil Aviation Authority: Health of Aircrew
In accordance with section 72C of the Civil Aviation Act 1990 (as amended by section 31 of the Civil Aviation Amendment Act 1992), I direct the authority to:
(i) note that it is the policy of the Government that the health of aircrew shall not be impaired through their employment;
(ii) take cognisance of the policy of the Government by establishing an arrangement with the Occupational Safety and Health Service of the Department of Labour for consideration of issues relating to the health of aircrew.

Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1966
Declaration Under the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1966
Whereas pursuant to section 28 of the State Sector Act 1988, the Minister of Transport did delegate his power under section 7 (4) of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1966 to the Secretary for Transport by an instrument of delegation dated 12 April 1990.
Whereas pursuant to section 41 of the State Sector Act 1988, the Secretary for Transport did delegate that power under section 7 (4) of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1966 to me by an instrument of delegation dated 9 May 1990.
Therefore, I, Thomas Edwin Law, hereby make the following declaration:
Declaration:
The Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Order 1979 shall not apply in respect of the ship or vessel:
MV Pacific Guardian
whilst working in the protected areas designated “Area 2—Hauraki Gulf”, “Area 3—Kawau Island” and “Area 4—Whangaparaoa Peninsula” for the purpose of carrying out work on and from 20 September 1992 to 1 December 1992 or the completion of work, whichever occurs first.

Traffic Regulations 1976
Revoking a Notice Exempting Vehicles Operating Within the Chatham or Great Barrier Islands from Inspection
Pursuant to regulation 85 (6) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, the Minister of Transport hereby exempts from the provisions of regulation 85 (1) of the said regulations, only as it applies to the requirements to carry a current certificate of fitness, any motor vehicle while operated solely within the Chatham Islands.
The Minister of Transport hereby revokes the Gazette notice exempting vehicles from certain provisions of regulation 85 (1) of the Traffic Regulations 1976 whilst operated within the Chatham or Great Barrier Islands, as published in the New Zealand Gazette of 1984, page 2689.

Exemption from Certain Warrant of Fitness Inspection Requirements for Vehicles Operating On Great Barrier Island
Pursuant to regulation 90 (1) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, and pursuant to the powers delegated to me by the Secretary for Transport, I, Richard Leslie Reynolds, Controller Vehicle Standards, hereby exempt the specified class of motor vehicles from the inspection of the equipment required under the regulations specified in the Schedule. This notice shall expire on 31 December 1995.
Specified Class of Motor Vehicles
Any motor vehicle operated solely on Great Barrier Island which is required to undergo periodic warrant of fitness inspections.
Schedule
Equipment, required under the Traffic Regulations 1976, which is exempted from inspection:
- Regulation 62 (1) — Registration plate illumination.
- Regulation 63 — Direction indicators.
- Regulation 69 — Warning devices.
- Regulation 72 — Speedometer.
- Regulation 73 — Windscreens and other glazing.
- Regulation 73a — Laminated windscreens.
- Regulation 74 — Rear vision mirror.
- Regulation 75 — Sun visor.
- Regulation 76 — Mudguards.
- Regulation 77 — Dangerous fittings.
- Regulation 79 — Television in motor vehicles.
- Regulation 81 — Exhaust system and silencer.
- Regulation 82 — Means of entrance and exit.
- Regulation 83 — Couplings.
