Animal Diseases Prevention (Port and Airport Facilities) Regulations 1977

Exemptions for Port and Airport Authorities

(Notice No. 5168)

Pursuant to regulation 19(1) of the Animal Diseases Prevention (Port and Airport Facilities) Regulations 1977, I hereby give notice that each authority set out in the Schedule hereto is exempt from regulation 6(1)(a) of the said regulations, being the requirement to provide at its port or airport, an incinerator for the disposal of refuse from overseas ships and overseas aircraft.

Each exemption is granted on my satisfaction that circumstances prescribed in regulation 19(1)(a) or (b) exist in each case such that it is impracticable for the authority to comply with the requirement. Each exemption is granted on condition that:

(a) The authority has continuous access to an approved incineration facility that meets the requirements of the above regulations; and

(b) The conveyance of refuse from the ship or aircraft to the approved incineration facility is carried out in a manner approved by the Chief Veterinary Officer.

This exemption takes effect on the day following the date of publication in the Gazette.

Tariff Act 1988

The Tariff (Statistical Requirements) Amendment Notice (No. 3) 1992

Pursuant to section 10(2) of the Tariff Act 1988, the Secretary of Commerce gives the following notice.

Notice

1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Tariff (Statistical Requirements) Amendment Notice (No. 3) 1992.

(2) This notice shall come into force on the 1st day of September 1992.

2. Statistical keys of certain Tariff items amended—The Tariff is hereby amended by revoking the statistical key of Tariff item 8421.23.00 and substituting the statistical keys specified in the First Schedule to this notice.

3. Certain statistical keys of certain Tariff items amended—The Tariff is hereby further amended by revoking the statistical key represented by the Tariff item and code 0203.29.00 09L, and substituting the statistical keys specified in the Second Schedule to this notice.
