Conservation Act 1987

Declaring Land to be Held for Conservation Purposes Together with a Declaration that the area become a Scenic Reserve

Pursuant to section 7 (1) of the Conservation Act 1987, the Minister of Conservation and the Minister of Lands being the Minister responsible for the Department of State that has control of the land described in the Schedule hereto, jointly declare that land is held for conservation purposes and pursuant to section 8 (1A) of the Act the Minister of Conservation further declares that the conservation area shall hereafter be set apart as a reserve subject to the Reserves Act 1977 and classified as a scenic reserve subject to the provisions of the latter Act.

Schedule

Canterbury Land District—Hurunui District

31.2980 hectares, being Section 10, S.O. 18669. All Crown land.

59.5500 hectares, being Section 16, S.O. 18670. All Crown land by T641295.

Corrigendum

Revocation of Appointment, Classification and Vesting of Reserve

In the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette, 2 July 1992, No. 102, page 2329, amend in the Schedule the words “Recreation District” to read “Recreation Reserve”; “All C.T. 737/44” to read “Balance C.T. 737/44” and the date of the notice from “2nd” to read “24th”.

Revocation of the Reservation Over Part of a Reserve

Pursuant to the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, the Regional Conservator, Department of Conservation, Otago, hereby revokes the reservation over that part of the recreation reserve described in the Schedule hereto and further declares the land to be Crown land, subject to the Land Act 1948.

Appointment of The Tasman District Council to Control and Manage

Pursuant to the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, the Nelson/Marlborough Regional Conservator, Department of Conservation, hereby appoints The Tasman District Council to control and manage, the reserve described in the First Schedule attached hereto, for scenic purposes, subject to the conditions contained in the Second Schedule hereto.

First Schedule

Nelson Land District—Tasman District—McKee Memorial Scenic Reserve

5.5354 hectares, more or less, being Section 133, District of Moutere Hills, situated in Block I, Moutere Survey District. Part New Zealand Gazette, 1979, page 1394.

Second Schedule

Three year appointment commencing 1 July 1992.

Management consistent with approved reserve management plan.

Prior to 31 July each year, an annual work plan being submitted to the Nelson/Marlborough Regional Conservator for approval.

Declaration That Land is a Reserve

Pursuant to the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, the Regional Conservator of the Wellington Conservancy of the Department of Conservation, hereby notifies that the following resolution was passed by The Wellington City Council on the 15th day of May 1992:

“That, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 14 of the Reserves Act 1977, The Wellington City Council hereby resolves that the pieces of land held by the said council in fee simple and, described in the Schedule hereto, shall be and the same is hereby declared to be recreation reserves within the meaning of the said Act.”
