First Schedule

Situated within Central Otago District at Alexandra:

All roads within an area bounded by a line commencing at a point on the south-western side of No. 8 State Highway (Timaru-Milton via Alexandra) 120 metres measured north-westerly, generally, along that roadside from Gregg Street and proceeding north-westerly, generally, along that side of the said State highway, across Boundary Road, for a distance of one kilometre; thence due west to the eastern bank of the Clutha River, thence southerly, generally, along that river bank to a point due north of Chapman Road; thence due south, across the Clutha River, to the northern side of Earnsleigh Road; thence easterly, generally, along that roadside to a point 450 metres measured north-westerly, generally, along that roadside from Aronui Road; thence southerly, generally, across Earnsleigh Road at right angles from its northern side to its southern side; thence westerly, generally, along that roadside to the south-eastern side of Chapman Road; thence due south to the north-western side of No. 8 State Highway (Timaru-Milton via Alexandra); thence north-easterly, generally, along that roadside to a point 180 metres measured southerly, generally, along the said State highway from Earnsleigh Road; thence easterly, generally, across No. 8 State Highway (Timaru-Milton via Alexandra) at right angles from its western side to its eastern side; thence due east, across the Clutha River, to the eastern bank of the Manuherikia River, across Little Valley Road, to the north side of Little Valley Road; thence north-westerly, generally, by a right line to a point on the south-eastern side of No. 85 State Highway (Palmerston-Alexandra) 50 metres measured north-easterly, generally, along the said State highway from Samson Street; thence north-westerly, generally, across the said State highway at right angles from its south-eastern side to its north-western side; thence north-westerly, generally, by a right line to the northern end of Ngapara Street; thence north-westerly, generally, by a right line to a point on the north-eastern side of Dunstan Road 350 metres measured north-westerly, generally, along Dunstan Road from Arnott Street; thence south-westerly, generally, across Dunstan Road at right angles from its north-eastern side to its south-western side; thence north-westerly, generally, along that roadside to a point 120 metres measured north-westerly, generally, along the said State highway from Gregg Street; thence south-westerly, generally, across No. 8 State Highway (Timaru-Milton via Alexandra) at right angles from its north-eastern side to its south-western side to the commencement point.

Second Schedule

Situated within Central Otago District at Alexandra:

No. 8 State Highway (Timaru-Milton via Alexandra): from a point 90 metres measured north-westerly, generally, along the said State highway from Boundary Road to a point 120 metres measured north-westerly, generally, along the said State highway from Earnsleigh Road to a point 180 metres measured southerly, generally, along the said State highway from Earnsleigh Road.

No. 85 State Highway (Palmerston-Alexandra): from a point 200 metres measured north-easterly, generally, along the said State highway from Gilligans Gully Road to a point 50 metres measured north-easterly, generally, along the said State highway from Samson Street.

Dunstan Road: from a point 350 metres measured north-westerly, generally, along Dunstan Road from Arnott Street to a point 780 metres measured north-westerly, generally, along Dunstan Road from Arnott Street.

The Traffic (Nelson City) Notice No. 1, 1992

Pursuant to the Transport Act 1962, a delegation from the Minister of Transport, and a subdelegation from the Secretary for Transport, I, Carne Maurice Clissold, Controller, Road and Traffic Standards, give the following notice:

Notice

This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Nelson City) Notice No. 1, 1992.

The areas and roads specified in the First Schedule are declared to be closely populated localities for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

The roads specified in the Second Schedule are excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

The roads specified in the Third Schedule are declared to be 70 kilometre an hour speed limit areas pursuant to regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976.

All roads situated within Nelson City (that are not included in the First, Second or Third Schedules of this notice), to the north and east of the line described in the first paragraph of the First Schedule are excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

The following traffic notices are hereby revoked:

  1. The Traffic (Nelson City) Notice No. 1, 1983, dated the 4th day of March 1983, issued pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976.

  2. The notice declaring a Closely Populated Locality within Waimea County at Stoke, dated the 29th day of April 1963, issued pursuant to the Traffic Regulations 1956 and section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.

First Schedule

Situated within Nelson City:

All roads within Nelson City to the south and west of a right line between the north-west boundary and the south-east boundary that passes through a point on the northern side of No. 6 State Highway (Blenheim-Invercargill via Nelson and Greymouth) 100 metres measured easterly, generally, along the said State highway from Allisdair Street and the Wells Hill beacon.

Cable Bay Road: from the Cable Bay Boulder Bank ford, for a distance of 625 metres measured along Cable Bay Road in a southerly direction, and for a distance of 625 metres measured along Cable Bay Road in a north-easterly direction.

Little Todds Valley Road.

Todds Bush Road.

Todds Valley Road.

Situated within Nelson City at Glenduan:

Airlie Street.

Athol Street.

Glen Road: from Athol Street to Seafield Terrace.
