Advertising Rates

The following rates for the insertion of material in the Principal Edition of the New Zealand Gazette apply as from 1 July 1991:

Category 1

Single column notices, e.g.: Notices under the Transport Act, Public Works Act — 55c per word.

Category 2

Notices in table form or taking up two columns across the page, e.g.: Regulation Summaries, notices under the Medicines Act — 60c per word.

The appropriate rate to be applied to an advertisement will be determined at the time of setting up the notice for publication. Customers will be invoiced in accordance with standard commercial practices. Advertising rates are not negotiable.

All rates shown are inclusive of G.S.T.

Pesticides Act 1979

Specification of Countries From Which Unregistered Pesticides May be Imported for “Own Use” (Notice No. 5161)

Pursuant to section 21 of the Pesticides Act 1979, after consultation with the Pesticides Board and being satisfied that the countries concerned have schemes for the registration of pesticides that are in accordance with or not less onerous than the scheme set out in The Food and Agriculture Organisation Guidelines for the Registration and Control of Pesticides, I hereby specify Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, the Federal Republic of Germany, France, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Israel and Canada to be countries from which individuals can import pesticides for their own use on their own or their occupied lands.

The specification in notice No. 4896, published in the New Zealand Gazette on 2 March 1989 at page 860 is hereby revoked.

Mining Act 1971

Endowment Land to be Brought Within Operation of the Act

Whereas the 1870 Ordinance vested the land described in the Schedule hereto in the Otago University.

And whereas the revenue from the land described in the Schedule hereto is now administered by the Otago University which has consented subject to a condition to the land described in the Schedule hereto being brought within the operation of the Mining Act 1971.

Consent on receiving the consent of the Otago University, the Minister of Energy, pursuant to section 28 of the Mining Act 1971, hereby gives notice that the endowment land described in the Schedule hereto is from the date of this notice within the operation of the Mining Act 1971, subject to the following conditions:

  1. The land shall be within the operation of the Mining Act 1971 only for the duration of mining licence No. 32 3220.

While this notice remains in force, the provisions of the Mining Act 1971 shall apply to the land described in the Schedule hereto as if the land were Crown land open for mining. This notice is published for the purpose of enabling the granting of mining licence No. 32 3220 over the land described in the Schedule hereto.
