This bill relates to the amount of excise duty payable on motor spirits that is credited to the Land Transport Fund under the Transit New Zealand Act 1989.

Broadcasting Act 1989
Direction to the Broadcasting Commission in Relation to Funding of Broadcasting Activities—National Radio and Concert FM
To: The Broadcasting Commission
Pursuant to section 44 of the Broadcasting Act 1989, I, Maurice Donald Williamson, Minister of Communications, hereby:
(1) Give you notice that it is part of the general policy of Government in relation to broadcasting that the services known as National Radio and Concert FM should continue to be funded by the Broadcasting Commission until at least 31 December 1992; and
(2) In pursuance of that policy, direct that you shall use your best endeavours to negotiate contracts, in relation to the provision of funds for the services known as National Radio and Concert FM, that include conditions that require those services to be similar in quality and quantity with the services known as the National Radio network and the Concert Programme network as at 1 June 1989.
Consequential Amendment:
The “Direction to the Broadcasting Commission in Relation to Funding of Broadcasting Activities” dated 1 June 1989 and published in the Gazette of 8 June 1989 at page 2218, is amended by revoking paragraphs 1 (b), 1 (c), 2 (b) and 2 (c).

Pursuant to section 49 (1) of the Broadcasting Act 1989, I, Maurice Donald Williamson, Minister of Communications, hereby give you notice that you may spend $1,608,000 (one million, six hundred and eight thousand dollars) on account of your administrative expenses, excluding those involved in collecting public broadcasting fees, in the financial year 1 July 1992 to 30 June 1993.
