Conditions

1. This exemption only applies to motor vehicles within the specified class.

2. The seatbelt must comply with every appropriate requirement of an approved standard (including dual retractor sensitivity), except the marking or labelling requirement of that standard.

3. The seatbelt that is fitted must be the original seatbelt.

4. Any replacement seatbelts must comply with every appropriate requirement (including the dual retractor sensitivity and the marking or labelling requirements) of the following approved standards: ECE 16, EEC 77/541, ADR 4/00, JIS D 4604, NZS 5401, AS2596.

5. This exemption does not affect any rights of legal redress.

This notice only pertains to the labelling or marking requirements of an approved standard. This notice does not affect the New Zealand legal requirements for a particular type of seatbelt for a particular sitting position.
