breached the responsibilities placed on broadcasters to be truthful and accurate on points of fact; to deal justly and fairly with any person taking part or referred to in any programme; to show balance, impartiality and fairness in dealing with political matters, current affairs and all questions of a controversial nature; to exercise care in the editing of programme material to ensure that the extracts used are a true reflection of the overall views expressed; and to present all significant sides of a controversial public issue in as fair a way as possible.

(iv) In Decision 22/91, the Authority declined to uphold a complaint by the Christian Heritage Party of New Zealand that the broadcast by Television New Zealand Limited of the programme “Decision 90” on 27 October 1990 breached the responsibility placed on broadcasters to show balance, impartiality and fairness in dealing with political matters, current affairs and all questions of a controversial nature.

Conservation Act 1987

Declaring Land to be Held for Conservation Purposes

Pursuant to section 7 (1) of the Conservation Act 1987, the Minister of Conservation and the Minister of Forestry, being the Minister responsible for the Department of State that has control of the land, hereby declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto, is held for conservation purposes and is deemed to be held for the purpose of a conservation park pursuant to section 61 (3) of the Conservation Act 1987.

Revocation of Part Tararua Conservation Park

Pursuant to section 18 (7) of the Conservation Act 1987, the Minister of Conservation hereby revokes the conservation park status of the land described in the Schedule hereto and further declares that the land shall hereinafter be held as a stewardship area pursuant to section 25 of the Conservation Act 1987.

Cancellation of the Vesting in The Taupo District Council and Revocation of the Reservation Over a Reserve

Pursuant to the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, the Tongariro/Taupo Regional Conservator of the Department of Conservation, hereby cancels the vesting in The Taupo District Council and revokes the reservation as a recreation reserve over the land described in the Schedule hereto.
