Notice
- (a) This notice may be cited as the Water Recreation (Hahei Beach) Notice 1991.
(b) This notice shall come into force 14 days after publication in the New Zealand Gazette and shall remain in force until revoked by further notice in the Gazette.
- Subject to the conditions set forth in the Second Schedule hereto, the area specified in the First Schedule shall be reserved for the use of jet skis, wet bikes and craft and persons involved in water-skiing.
First Schedule
All that area of water at Hahei Beach, Hahei, bounded by a line commencing at a point at the intersection on a line on a true bearing of 48° 22′ 30″ from the north-eastern corner of Lot 25, D.P. S. 15009 with the mean high-water mark of Hahei Beach, thence on a line of true bearing 0° 00′ to a point 200 metres from the waters edge at Hahei Beach, thence by a line parallel to the waters edge, to a point 50 metres from the aforesaid line on a bearing 311° 17′, thence by a line on a true bearing 180° 00′ to the mean high-water mark of Hahei Beach, thence along the waters edge of Hahei Beach in a south-easterly direction to the point of commencement.
Second Schedule
- The area shall be marked by:
(a) Two 2.5 metre transit posts painted with 300 mm bright orange and black bands erected in line with each side of the access lane, the first post being sited at high water mark.
(b) A set of 4 marker buoys, painted bright orange with a vertical black stripe, moored not more than 50 metres apart in line with each set of transit posts.

Notwithstanding any other provision of this notice, no person who is permitted by any such provision to propel or navigate a small craft at a speed of jet exceeding 5 knots shall do so in any manner that is likely to endanger or unduly annoy any person who is, in, on, or using the waters or fishing, or undertaking any recreational activity in the vicinity of the small craft.

All persons in charge of a vessel shall adhere to and keep the provisions of all Acts and regulations not specifically exempted by this notice.

Consent to Raising of Loans by Certain Local Authorities
Pursuant to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the undersigned Deputy Secretary to the Treasury, acting under powers delegated to the Secretary to the Treasury by the Minister of Finance, hereby consents to the borrowing by the local authorities, mentioned in the Schedule hereto, of the whole or any part of the respective amounts specified in the Schedule.
