Waipori Rural Fire District Notice 1991
Pursuant to the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1977, the National Rural Fire Authority hereby makes the following notice:
Notice

(1) This notice may be cited as the Waipori Rural Fire District Notice 1991.
(2) This notice shall come into force on the day after its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

In this notice, unless the context otherwise requires, the:
“Act” means the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1977;
“Committee” means the Waipori Rural Fire Committee;
“District” means the Waipori Rural Fire District.

This notice revokes and is in substitution for the Waipori Rural Fire District Notice 1977* and all amendments thereto.
Constitution of the Waipori Rural Fire District

The area specified and declared in the Schedule to this notice are hereby constituted and declared to be a rural fire district to be known as the Waipori Rural Fire District.

The Waipori Rural Fire District shall be administered for the purpose of the Act by a rural fire committee known as the Waipori Rural Fire Committee.

The committee shall consist of 7 members as follows:
(1) 2 persons appointed by the City Forests Limited, in writing, signed on behalf of that company by 1 director and the secretary thereof; and
(2) 2 persons appointed by the Wenita Forestry Limited, in writing, signed on behalf of that company by 1 director and the secretary thereof; and
(3) 1 person appointed by The Clutha District Council, in writing, signed on behalf of the council by the Chief Executive and the secretary thereof; and
(4) 1 person appointed by The Dunedin City Council, in writing, signed on behalf of the council by the Chief Executive and the secretary thereof; and
(5) 1 person appointed, in writing, by the Director-General of the Department of Conservation.

The trees and other plants on the land, described in the Schedule to this notice, are hereby specified as the property for the protection for which the district is constituted.

The period between the 1st day of October in any year and the 30th day of September in the following year (both days inclusive) is hereby declared to be a restricted fire season in the district.
Schedule
Otago Land District
Waipori Rural Fire District
All those areas in the Otago Land District, Dunedin City, Clutha District and described generally as follows:
Firstly, all that area in Otago Land District containing 34,500 hectares, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at Trig Walhoia Hill, Block XII, Waipori Survey District and proceeding south-westerly along a right line to the south-western corner of Section 25, Block X, Claredon Survey District; thence north-westerly along a right line to the north-eastern corner of Section 2, Block X, Table Hill Survey District; thence south-westerly along a right line to the intersection of Black Swamp Road and Sections 5 and 6, Block VIII, Table Hill Survey District; thence southerly along a right line to the intersection of Sections 26, 44 and 3, Block V, Table Hill Survey District; thence westerly along a right line to Trig 17132, Block V, Table Hill Survey District; thence north-westerly along a right line to the north-western corner of Section 18, Block XI, Table Hill Survey District; thence north-easterly along a right line to the south-eastern corner of Section 20, Block VI, Tuapeka East Survey District; thence south-westerly along a right line to the southern corner of Sections 11 and 12, Block VII, Tuapeka East Survey District; thence north-westerly along a right line to the southern corner of Section 7, Block VIII, Tuapeka East Survey District; thence north-easterly along a right line to the south-western corner of Section 8, Block VII, Tuapeka East Survey District; thence westerly along the western boundaries of Blocks III and VI, Waipori Survey District to the intersection of Sections 9 and 10, Block VI, Waipori Survey District; thence easterly along a right line to Trig F, Block VI, Waipori Survey District; thence south-easterly along a right line to the south-eastern corner of Section 19, Block XII, Maungatua Survey District; thence southerly along the boundaries of Blocks XII and XV, Maungatua Survey District to Waipori Falls Road; thence generally south-easterly along Waipori Falls Road to the intersection of part Sections 45 and 46, Block II, Maungatua Survey District; thence southerly along a right line to Trig 0, Block VII, Claredon Survey District; thence south-westerly along a right line to the point of commencement.
Secondly, all that area in Otago Land District containing 1600 hectares, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at Trig 0, Block VI, Tuapeka East Survey District and proceeding northerly along a right line to the north-western corner of Lot 4, D.P. 15061, Block IX, Tuapeka East Survey District; thence north-easterly along a right line to the south-eastern corner of Section 18, Block IX, Tuapeka East Survey District; thence south-easterly along a right line to the north-eastern corner of Section 7, Block VII, Tuapeka East Survey District; thence south-westerly along a right line to the south-western corner of Section 8, Block VIII, Tuapeka East Survey District; thence westerly along a right line to the point of commencement.
As the same is more particularly delineated on plan NRFA 103, deposited in the National Headquarters of the New Zealand Fire Service, Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
