Dissolution of Board of Trustees

Pursuant to section 107 of the Education Act 1989, I am satisfied that the Maungataphere Primary School Board of Trustees should not continue in existence by reason of disharmony and I hereby dissolve the Maungataphere Primary School Board of Trustees and direct the Secretary of Education to appoint a Commissioner to act in its place.

Early Childhood Centres Exempt from Licensing

Pursuant to section 316 of the Education Act 1989 (as inserted by section 49 of the Education Amendment Act 1990) I hereby give the following notice.

Subject to the description below, premises used for the purposes of a playground are exempt from the requirement to be licensed as an early childhood centre. Playgroups are:

“Community-based non-profit making early childhood centres where groups of parents and children meet regularly with the purpose of providing early childhood care and education for the children and families attending and where:

i. Each playground meets for no more than one session of up to 3 hours on any one day;

ii. More than half of the parents of the children attending each session are present in the same play area at all times throughout the session;

iii. The group of parents assume responsibility for each child attending the group;”

iv. The group operates as an informal, non-profit making, community based group.

This notice shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.

Pursuant to section 10 of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, notice is given that an integration agreement has been signed between the Minister of Education, on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen, acting through the Manager, District Operations, Central East (Napier), Ministry of Education, pursuant to delegated authority, and the Rudolf Steiner Hastings Trust as proprietor of the following school:

The said integration agreement was executed on the 21st day of January 1991. Copies of the integration agreement are available for inspection without charge by any member of the public at the District Office of the Ministry of Education, Housing Corporation Building, Hastings Street, Napier.
