Proposed Release of Deposit
Insurance Companies’ Deposits Act 1953
Guardian Royal Exchange Assurance of New Zealand Limited (herein called “the company”) has given notice to the Public Trustee that it has ceased to carry on in New Zealand the business of insurance and that it proposes to withdraw, pursuant to section 19 of such Act, the deposit which has been made by it with the Public Trustee.
The Public Trustee therefore gives notice, pursuant to section 19 (3) of the above-mentioned Act, that being satisfied that all liabilities of the company in New Zealand in respect of such insurance business have been fully liquidated or provided for he proposes to release to the company, on or after the 20th day of November 1991, the amount deposited with him by the company.
Any objections to the release of the amount deposited should be lodged with the District Public Trustees at the Public Trust Office, 117-129 Lambton Quay, Wellington 1, on or before the 10th day of November 1991.

Notice of Decisions of Disciplinary Committee
Notice is hereby given by the Disciplinary Committee of the New Zealand Society of Accountants that a conjoint hearing held on 14 and 15 August 1991, William Nash Winter of Auckland appeared before the committee on the charge that he had been guilty of grave impropriety.
William Nash Winter having pleaded guilty to the charge as laid, the Disciplinary Committee found the charge proven.
The Disciplinary Committee ordered that William Nash Winter be removed from the Register of Members of the society and fixed no date when he may re-apply for re-admission under section 24 (3) (d) of the New Zealand Society of Accountants Act 1958. William Nash Winter was ordered to pay to the society the sum of $4,918.55 in respect of costs and expenses of an incidental to the inquiry by the Disciplinary Committee and the investigation by the Investigation Committee.
The Disciplinary Committee ordered that its decision be published in the Accountants’ Journal, the New Zealand Gazette and the New Zealand Herald with mention of the member’s name and locality.
At the same conjoint hearing held on 14 and 15 August 1991, a member appeared before the committee on charges that he conducted himself in such a manner as to render the exercise of the powers of the Disciplinary Committee expedient in the interests of the public and of the society.
The member having pleaded guilty to the charges as laid, the Disciplinary Committee found the charges proven.
The Disciplinary Committee ordered that the member be removed from the Register of Members of the society until 14 August 1996, pursuant to section 24 (3) (d) of the New Zealand Society of Accountants Act 1958. The member was ordered to pay to the society the sum of $8,101.88 in respect of costs and expenses of and incidental to the inquiry by the Disciplinary Committee and the investigation by the Investigation Committee.
The Disciplinary Committee ordered that its decision be published in the Accountants’ Journal and the New Zealand Gazette without mention of the member’s name and locality.
At the same conjoint hearing held on 14 and 15 August 1991, Cyril Paul Cooney of Auckland appeared before the committee on charges that he conducted himself in such a manner as to render the exercise of the powers of the Disciplinary Committee expedient in the interests of the public and of the society.
Cyril Paul Cooney having pleaded not guilty to the charges as laid, the Disciplinary Committee found the charges proven.
The Disciplinary Committee ordered that Cyril Paul Cooney be removed from the Register of Members of the society, pursuant to section 24 (3) (d) of the New Zealand Society of Accountants Act 1958, and fixed the date 15 August 1995, after which he could apply for re-admission. Cyril Paul Cooney was ordered to pay to the society the sum of $122,761.48 in respect of costs and expenses.
