Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988

Determination as a Specified Importer

Notice is hereby given that the Secretary of Commerce, acting pursuant to section 3A (2) of the Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988, has determined that Yuasa JRA Batteries Limited, a New Zealand producer of lead automotive batteries for passenger motor vehicle market and marine applications, which is also an importer of like goods, is a ‘specified importer’.

The brief reasons for this determination being made are that having regard to the nature and extent of the importations of the allegedly dumped goods including the value, quantity, frequency and purpose of the importations, the Secretary is satisfied that Yuasa JRA Batteries Limited should not be excluded from being treated as a New Zealand producer for the purposes of the Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988.
