general authorisations for or in connection with the drainage of land that is above 101.42 metres above datum on The Otago Regional Council gauge at the lake outlet shall not be prohibited.

(2) Nothing in this notice shall prevent the grant of water rights for the enhancement of wildlife habitats.

(3) Nothing in this notice shall prevent the renewal in substantially the same terms and conditions of any or all of the water rights or general authorisations affecting Lake Tuakitoto, current at the date of commencement of this notice.

Limit of notice—Nothing in this notice shall be construed as limiting the effect of the second proviso to Section 21 (1) of the Act relating to the taking or use of natural water for domestic needs, for the needs of animals, and for or in connection with fire fighting purposes.
