Definition of Areas

Area A: That area of the District west of State Highway No. 1 between the Rangitata and Pareora Rivers.

Area B: That area of the District east of Burkes Pass.

Area C: That area of the District west of Burkes Pass.

Area D: All that area west of Waitaki Dam.

Special Conditions

  1. No person shall willfully leave on the hunting ground the bodies or parts of bodies of black swan or other game shot in this district.

  2. During the period 29 July 1990 to 28 April 1991 hunting is prohibited within 500 metres of Wainono Lagoon.

Definition of Areas

Area A: The Manuherikia catchment and the Taieri catchment upstream of the Sutton—Mt Stoker road bridge near Sutton.

Area B: All that part of the Taieri River catchment upstream from the Lee Stream confluence (including the Lee Stream Catchment) and outside area A; all that part of the Shag River catchment above Dunback; that part of the Clutha River catchment upstream of and including the Waipahi River catchment and the Waiwera Stream catchment north of area D (State Highway One); the whole of the Pomahaka River catchment north of area D (State Highway One).

Area C: The Clutha catchment outside of area B; the Tokomairiro catchment; the Taieri catchment downstream of the Lee Stream confluence; the Waikouaiti catchment downstream of Bucklands Crossing; the Shag catchment below Dunback; and all other catchments that drain into the Pacific Ocean between (and including) the Tokomairiro catchment and Shag Point including Kaikorai Estuary and the Otago Peninsula.

Area D: All that area between the Mataura and Clutha Rivers south of State Highway 1.

  1. No person shall use or cause to be used for the hunting or killing of game within the district, any fixed stand, pontoon, or similar structure.
