In the matter of sections 75, 76, 77 and 78 of the Companies Act 1955, and in the matter of New Zealand Steel Limited, a duly incorporated company having its registered office at Woolf Fisher Works, Glenbrook, South Auckland:

Notice is hereby given that an order of the High Court of New Zealand dated the 28th day of February 1990, confirming the reduction of capital of the above-named company was registered by the District Registrar of Companies at Auckland on the 8th day of March 1990. The full text of the resolution reducing the capital of the company (being the resolution sanctioned in the above-mentioned order) is as follows:

“That the sum of $453,543,000 being the whole of the amount standing to the credit of the share premium account of the company as at 31 July 1989, be applied towards reversing (to the extent of $453,543,000) the debit previously made to the retained earnings account of the company on the write down of the company’s interest in its wholly owned subsidiary New Zealand Steel Development Limited, thereby effecting that write down, to the extent of $453,543,000, against the share premium account of the company and consequently crediting the company’s retained earnings account by an equivalent amount.”
