Survey Act 1986

Notice of Professional Misconduct

Pursuant to section 56 of the Survey Act 1986, notice is hereby given that consequent upon a hearing under section 50 of the said Act of a complaint of professional misconduct against John Butler Carruthers, registered surveyor of Masterton, the Survey Board of New Zealand on 31 March 1990, having found John Butler Carruthers guilty of professional misconduct made an order that:

(i) he attend for supervision the Office of the Chief Surveyor in Wellington over a period of 6 months at dates and times to be advised by the Chief Surveyor;

(ii) that he be censured;

(iii) that he pay costs and expenses of and incidental to the hearing.

The Board further directed that a notice stating the effect of the Order be published in the New Zealand Gazette and the New Zealand Surveyor.

Notice of Intention to Assign Place Names

Pursuant to section 12 of the New Zealand Geographic Board Act 1946, notice is hereby given of the intention of the New Zealand Geographic Board to assign the names stated in the first column of the Schedule below to the respective places described in the second column of the said Schedule.

Objection to any such proposed name may be given in writing, setting out the grounds for objection, to the Secretary of the Board, care of the Department of Survey and Land Information, P.O. Box 170, Wellington, with a period of 3 months from the date of the Gazette containing this notice.
