Notice of Application for an International Air Service Licence

Pursuant to section 7 of the International Air Services Licensing Act 1947, notice is hereby given that Emery World Airlines Inc. have applied for an International Air Service Licence to commence air services for the carriage of cargo and mail from the United States of America to New Zealand and beyond to Australia. Further details of this proposal may be obtained from the General Manager, Air Transport Division, Ministry of Transport, P.O. Box 31-441, Lower Hutt.

Any person or organisation desiring to make representations relating to this application must forward those representations in writing to reach me on or before 20 July 1990.

Traffic Regulations 1976

Approval of Motorcycle Safety Helmets in terms of the Traffic Regulations 1976

Pursuant to subclause (1) of regulation 88 of the Traffic Regulations 1976 and pursuant to powers delegated to me by the Secretary for Transport by an instrument of delegation dated the 14th day of November 1989, motorcycle safety helmets of the make and type described in the Schedule hereto are hereby approved for the purposes of Regulation 31 of the said regulations.

Schedule

(1) Safety Helmets manufactured by Arai Helmet Limited, Japan complying with E.C.E. Regulation 22, with the following type designation and bearing the marks of homologation:

• Arai Giga E4 031038 ..
• Arai Giga E4 031039 ..
• Arai Giga E4 031040 ..

All with required serial numbers.

(2) Safety helmets with the following model designations manufactured by Bell Helmets Incorporated, United States of America under the Quality Assurance programme BS 5750 Pt 2 1987/ISO 9002 monitored by the British Standards Institute, complying with Snell M-85 Standard and labelled accordingly:

• Moto 5
• Sport M-85
• Mag LTD.

Traffic Signs—Parking

Pursuant to Regulation 129 (6) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, the Minister of Transport, authorises the erection and maintenance of parking signs as described in the Schedule for the control of traffic in accordance with Regulation 123 of the Traffic Regulations 1976.

Schedule

Parking Signs

Restricted Parking Signs: may have a white legend on a blue background with a white border.

No Stopping Signs: may have a red legend on a white background with a red border and a no stopping symbol which may be a red circle containing a red diagonal cross with a blue background.

Clearway Signs: may have a black legend on a white background with a red border and a no stopping symbol which may be a red circle containing a diagonal cross with a blue background.

Bus Stop and Taxi Stand Signs: may have a red legend on a white background with a red border and a no parking symbol which may be a red circle containing a red diagonal bar and a black letter ‘P’ with a white background.

This notice shall come into force on the 1st day of July 1990.
