Notice of Decision of Minister of Lands Re Assigning of Place Names

Whereas pursuant to section 12 of the New Zealand Geographic Board Act 1946, notice was given on the 2nd day of June 1988 of the intention of the New Zealand Geographic Board to assign the names Motukokako Island (Piercy Island) to an island NE of Cape Brett and Waipara Range to a range between the Arawata and Waipara Rivers, W of Mount Aspiring. And whereas objections were received to the proposed name and were dealt with pursuant to section 13 of the said Act.

Now therefore I hereby declare that it is my decision that the name of the said island shall be Motukokako Island (Piercy Island) and the said range shall be Waipara Range and that this decision shall take effect on 15th day of December 1988.

National Roads Act 1953

Revoking State Highway No. 29, Tasman Quay Section, Mount Maunganui

Pursuant to section 11 of the National Roads Act 1953, the National Roads Board acting with the written approval of the Minister of Transport gives notice that the State Highway described in the First Schedule hereto is revoked within the meaning and for the purposes of the National Roads Act.

First Schedule

All that section of State Highway No. 29, Tasman quay between its junction with Hall Road and Hewletts Road in Mount Maunganui Borough.
