Defence Act 1971

Appointments, Promotions, Extensions, Transfers, Resignations, and Retirements of Officers of the Royal New Zealand Navy

Pursuant to section 35 of the Defence Act 1971, His Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Naval Forces.

ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVY

Surgeon Captain P. H. Robinson, L.V.O., M.B., Ch.B., M.Sc. (LOND.), Q.H.P., to be Surgeon Commodore with seniority and effect from 1 December 1988.

Lieutenant Commander O. J. Young to be acting Commander with effect from 10 March 1989, and Commander with seniority and effect from 13 March 1989.

Temporary Lieutenant Commander R. H. Bryant, Dip.Ed., to be Lieutenant Commander with seniority and effect from 1 January 1989.

Lieutenant S. J. Streefkerk to be temporary Lieutenant Commander with effect from 1 March 1989.

The appointment of Lieutenant (on prob.) A. C. Dalgleish, Dip.TCHG., to the RNZN is confirmed.

Lieutenant Nicholas Ian Holdgate, B.E. (ELECT.), is placed on the Emergency List of Officers of the Naval Reserves until 19 February 1993, with effect from 20 February 1989.

Lieutenant Erwin Ludwig Cornelius Neumayr is placed on the Emergency List of Officers of the Naval Reserves until 1 March 1993, with effect from 2 March 1989.

The appointment of Lieutenant (on prob.) N. B. Easton to the RNZN is confirmed.

Lieutenant Andrew Charles Hayes, B.Sc., is placed on the Emergency List of Officers of the Naval Reserves until 5 March 1993, with effect from 6 March 1989.

The following temporary Lieutenants to be Lieutenant with seniority and effect from the date shown:

  • S. R. E. Davis, N.Z.C.E. (p&p), B.E. (MECH.), 1 August 1987.
  • C. Rawlings, 1 January 1988.

The following Sub Lieutenants to be temporary Lieutenant with effect from 1 January 1989:
