Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975
Pursuant to section 15 of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, notice is hereby given that the Minister of Education has cancelled the integration agreements for St Mary’s Cathedral School and Marist Brothers’ School, Hamilton, pursuant to section 11 of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975 and pursuant to section 12 of the said Act disestablishes and closes the said schools with effect from 27 January 1989.

Electrical Wiring Regulations 1976
Notice of Prohibition—Electrical Soldering Irons
Pursuant to regulation 8 of the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1976, notice is hereby given that:
- The apparatus described below may, in my opinion constitute an electrical hazard.
Description:
i Pistol shaped, unbranded, 220/240V, 40W, and
ii Pencil shaped, unbranded, 220/240V, 40W.
iii Pencil shaped “Star”, 230/240V, 40W.

This possible hazard has arisen as a result of examinations made by New South Wales authorities which revealed that the electric soldering irons have exposed metal parts that are not earthed and therefore considered unsafe to use.

The Electrical Safety requirements for this type of apparatus are identical in New Zealand and Australia.

Accordingly, any person who manufactures or imports for sale, or sells or offers for sale, and every person who installs or causes or permits to be installed, or assists to install on any premises, any device or apparatus or materials which does not comply with the requirements of, or which is not of the character specified by these regulations, or which in the opinion of the Secretary as notified in the manner specified in subclauses (3) to (10) of this regulation, constitutes or may constitute an electrical hazard, commits an offence and shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding $200.

Pursuant to section 24 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1977, His Excellency, the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following Order:

Title and commencement—This order may be cited as the Town and Country Planning (East Cape Regional Planning Scheme: Section One) Order 1989.

Section One of the East Cape Regional Planning Scheme approved—Section One of the East Cape Regional Planning Scheme as prepared in accordance with the provisions of the Town and Country Planning Act 1977 by the East Cape United Council in 1988 and held in the office of the Secretary for the Environment in Wellington under reference No. TP 150/14/0/1 is hereby approved.

Commencement of Section One of the East Cape Regional Planning Scheme—Section One of the East Cape Regional Planning Scheme as approved by clause 2 of this Order shall come into force on the 13th day of March 1989.

Section Two of the Manawatu Regional Planning Scheme approved—Section Two of the Manawatu Regional Planning Scheme as prepared in accordance with the provisions of the Town and Country Planning Act 1977 by the Manawatu United Council in 1988 and held in the office of the Secretary for the Environment in Wellington under reference No. TP 150/9/0/2 is hereby approved.

Commencement of Section Two of the Manawatu Regional Planning Scheme—Section Two of the Manawatu Regional Planning Scheme as approved by clause 2 of this Order shall come into force on the 2nd day of March 1989.
