variable amounts of vegetable matter and extraneous alkali insoluble impurities, mineral matter, wool waxes, suint and moisture.
Accordingly the Board hereby directs that from 1 April 1990 no certified results/test certificates shall be supplied or displayed in connection with the offering of raw wool for sale in New Zealand or for export overseas unless both the following criteria are met:
(a) That the certified results/test certificates be issued on the basis of a test authorised by the Board and carried out according to a standard test method published by the International Wool Textile Organisation, the Standards Association of New Zealand, the American Society of Testing and Materials, or any other nationally or internationally recognised body that may be designated by the Board.
(b) That any such certified results/test certificates be issued by an authorised wool testing laboratory that is registered with the Testing Laboratory Registration Council of New Zealand (TELARC) under their registered laboratory programme. (Notification by the New Zealand Wool Board that a laboratory is authorised can only be given once TELARC registration is granted.)
Where certified results/test certificates are supplied or displayed in connection with the offering of wool for sale in New Zealand or for export overseas the Board authorises the following Sampling Procedures, Tests, Test Methods, Matching/Interlotting Standards and Certificate Format Regulations.

The issuing of any certified results/test certificates that are not in accordance with this direction would constitute an offence against the Wool Industry Act 1977.
