Fire Service Act 1975

Fire Service Levy Notice 1989

Pursuant to section 48 of the Fire Service Act 1975, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby gives the following notice:

N o t i c e

  1. Short title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Fire Service Levy Notice 1989.

(2) This notice shall come into force on the 1st day of February 1990.

  1. Rate of levy—The rate of levy payable in respect of the amount for which any property is insured under any contract of fire insurance made in New Zealand shall be:

(a) Where the period of the contract of fire insurance is 1 year, 6.75 cents for every $100 of the amount for which the property is insured;

(b) In the case of any other period, a pro rata proportion of the rate prescribed in paragraph (a) of this clause.

  1. Repeal of previous Fire Service Levy Notice—The Fire Service Levy Notice 1986 is hereby repealed.
