Electricity Act 1968

Compliance and Approval of Electrical Apparatus and Materials

Pursuant to the provisions of section 2 of the New Zealand Electrical Code of Practice, NZECP3: Electrical Safety of Apparatus and Materials, as declared under the Electricity Act 1968 the following specifications are rescinded 28 days after the publication of this notice.

National Fire Protection Association (USA) Standard

NFPA 497—1975 Recommended practice for classification of Class I hazardous locations for electrical installations in chemical plants.

Underwriters Laboratories (USA) Standards

UL 486A—1980 Wire connectors and soldering lugs for use with copper conductors.

UL 486B—1982 Wire connectors for use with aluminium conductors.

UL 674—1978 Electric motors and generators for use in hazardous locations, Class I, Groups c and d, Class II, Groups e, f and g.

UL 698—1973 Electrical industrial control equipment for hazardous locations, Class I, Groups a, b, c and d, and Class II, Groups e, f and g.

UL 781—1978 Portable electric lighting units for use in hazardous locations, Class I, Groups c and d, Class II, Group g.

UL 823—1977 Electric heaters for use in hazardous locations, Class I, Groups a, b, c and d, and Class II, Groups e, f and g.

UL 844—1978 Electrical lighting fixtures for use in hazardous locations.

UL 886—1980 Outlet boxes and fittings for use in hazardous locations, Class I, Groups a, b, c and d, and Class II, Groups e, f and g.

UL 894—1977 Switches for use in hazardous locations, Class I, Groups a, b, c and d, and Class II, Groups e, f and g.

Estate and Gifts Duties Act 1968

Administrations in Deceased Persons Estates—Exemption Under Section 43 (1A) Estate and Gift Duties Act 1968

Pursuant to section 43 (1A) of the Estate and Gift Duties Act 1968, the Commissioner of Inland Revenue gives notice that the following administrations are exempted from the requirement imposed by section 43 (1) of that Act that they be delivered to the Commissioner from the Court:

Administrations granted to the administrators of the estates of persons dying on or after 1 April 1984 where the final balance, as defined by the Estate and Gift Duties Act 1968, does not exceed the amount of $300,000.

Pursuant to section 43 (1b), the granting of this exemption is conditional in each case upon the provision to the Registrar or other proper officer of the Court of a declaration in the form specified in this notice. The declaration may be made by one or more of the administrators, or the solicitor(s) for the administrator(s), or an authorised officer of the Public Trust Office, the office of the Maori Trustee, or a Trustee Company.

The form of declaration is as follows:

Solemnly and sincerely declare that:

  1. I am/We are the solicitor(s)/Administrator(s) of the estate of ... who died on ...

  2. Of my/our knowledge and as a result of full enquiries made by me/us I am/we are satisfied that the final balance in the estate, as defined by the Estate and Gift Duties Act 1968, being the total value of the property in the dutiable estate of the deceased, reduced by the sum of the allowable debts and any matrimonial home allowance and any charitable allowance, does not exceed the amount of $300,000.

  3. Accordingly, the current exemption granted to the Registrar by the Commissioner of Inland Revenue by authority of section 43 (1A) of the Estate and Gift Duties Act 1968 applies to the administration of this estate.

  4. The administration, being of the kind described in the notice of exemption by the Commissioner, is for delivery direct to the administrator(s)/solicitor(s) of the estate.

And I/we make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true and by virtue of the Oaths and Declarations Act 1957.
