Church Property Trust (Canterbury) Act Amendment
Take notice that the Church Property Trustees intend to promote a Private Bill to amend the Church Property Trust (Canterbury) Act 1879 to confer on the Church Property Trustees power to use part of the income of the Bishopric estate for the payment of travelling allowances to the spouse of the Bishop of Christchurch, power to use part of the income for post-ordination training, to confer upon the trustees wider investment powers specified in the Second Schedule to the Anglican Church Trusts Act 1981 and power with the approval of the Synod or the Standing Committee of the Diocese of Christchurch to lend money to the General Trust Estate of the Diocese for the purpose of making loans to Parishes within the Diocese and to make other amendments of an administrative nature of the Act.
Communications or notices to the promoter may be sent to its solicitors Bradley West Clarke List, 77 Sophia Street, Timaru (P.O. Box 71, Timaru) and a copy of the proposed Bill may be inspected in connection with Standing Order 263 of the House of Representatives at the District Court Office at Christchurch.
