Notice of Guarantee given Pursuant to Section 59 (1) of the Public Finance Act 1989—Drought Rehabilitation Loan Scheme

Pursuant to section 59 (2) of the Public Finance Act 1989, the Minister of Finance makes the following statement:

On 30 August 1989 I, David Francis Caygill, Minister of Finance, gave a guarantee pursuant to section 59 (1) of the Public Finance Act 1989, to the financial institutions set out below in respect of the borrowings of certain South Island farmers who have suffered the effects of drought. The guarantee is given in respect of up to $36,000 of the borrowings of each eligible farmer for a period of 4 years from the date upon which the loan was made where an application for a loan has been made on or before 30 June 1990 and where notification has been received by the Crown not later than 31 August 1990.
