Animals Act 1967

Notice to Set Apart and Define a Special Quarantine Ground at Hato Paora College (Notice No. 4936; Qual/0966/PAO)

Notice is hereby given that pursuant to section 11A (1) of the Animals Act 1967, land on Hato Paora College, shown on Plan No. 1411896 as A, K and L, situated within Blocks VII, VIII, XI and XII, Oroua Survey District, being Lots 15, 16 and part Lot 17, D.P. 73, being of 76.87 hectares, more or less, and being the land in certificate of title, Volume 31B, folio 790 (Wellington Registry), is hereby declared to be a special quarantine ground for the importation of animals.

Dated at Wellington this 5th day of September 1989.

Temporary Safeguard Authorities Act 1987

Request to a Temporary Safeguard Authority to Undertake an Inquiry into the Importation of Goods

Pursuant to section 5 (1) of the Temporary Safeguard Authorities Act 1987 (“the Act”), I, David John Butcher, the Minister of Commerce, request you to undertake an inquiry into the importation of the goods specified in the Schedule to this request (“the goods”) and report on the following matters:

  1. Whether the industry in relation to the goods, has suffered or is likely to suffer material injury as a result of the importation of the goods having regard to the matters set out in section 6 of the Act; and

  2. If the Industry has suffered or is likely to suffer such injury,—
    i. Whether urgent action is necessary to protect the industry in relation to the importation of the goods; and
    ii. If such action is considered necessary, the nature of the protection that you consider to be appropriate in all the circumstances.
