  2. The Regional Superintendent of Education or deputy shall be an associate member of the Waikato Technical Institute Council entitled to be present and heard at any meeting of the Council or any committee of the Council but shall not be entitled to vote at any such meeting.

  3. Clause 5 of the principal notice is hereby revoked and the following clause substituted:

5 (1) Except in the case of a casual vacancy, or as otherwise provided in this notice, every member shall hold office until the 1st day of December 1990.

(2) If any member:
(a) Dies or resigns office by giving written notice addressed to the Council or to the Chairman or the Secretary thereof; or
(b) Is absent without leave from the meetings of the Council for 3 consecutive months; or
(c) While holding office becomes ineligible to remain a member by reason of disability, insolvency, neglect of duty or misconduct;

the casual vacancy so created shall be filled as soon as practicable thereafter by the appointment or election of a member in the manner in which the vacating member was appointed or elected. The member appointed or elected to fill the vacancy shall hold office for the residue of the term of office of the member whom that person replaces.

The Wanganui Regional Community College Amendment Notice 1989

Pursuant to section 69 of the Education Act 1964, the Associate Minister of Education as a member of the Executive Council of New Zealand hereby gives the following notice:

N o t i c e

  1. (1) This notice shall be cited as the Wanganui Regional Community College Amendment Notice 1989 and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Wanganui Regional Community College Notice 1983* (hereinafter referred to as the principal notice).

(2) This notice shall come into force on the day of its publication in the Gazette.

  1. Clause 4 of the principal notice is hereby amended by revoking subparagraph (ii) of clause 4 (n).

  2. Clause 4 of the principal notice is hereby amended by revoking paragraph (p) and substituting the following paragraph:

(n) Not more than 6 members to be co-opted by the Council itself, if and when it thinks fit, of whom one member may be co-opted to represent the interests of local youth and welfare organisations not otherwise represented, and one member may be co-opted to represent the interests of local professional groups not otherwise represented.

  1. Clause 5 of the principal notice is hereby amended by revoking paragraphs 5 (1), (2), (3) and (4) and substituting the following clauses:

(1) Except in the case of a casual vacancy, or as otherwise provided in this notice, every member shall hold office until the 1st day of December 1990.

(2) If any member:
(a) Dies or resigns office by giving written notice addressed to the Council or to the Chairman or the Secretary thereof; or

(2) This notice shall come into force on the day of its publication in the Gazette.

  1. Clause 2 of the principal notice is hereby amended by revoking paragraph (j) and substituting the following paragraph:

(j) Not more than 5 members co-opted by the council itself, if and when it thinks fit.

  1. Clause 3 (3) of the principal notice is hereby amended by revoking paragraphs (a), (b) and (c) and substituting the following paragraphs:

(a) The member appointed pursuant to clause 2 (d) and the member elected pursuant to clause 2 (i) of this notice shall hold office until the 31st day of July 1991;

(b) The 3 members appointed pursuant to clause 2 (c), (e) and (f) and the member elected pursuant to clause 2 (h) of this notice shall hold office until the 1st day of December 1990.
