Redefining Purposes of Maori Reservation
Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to section 439 (5) (c) of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the purposes for which the Maori reservation was, in respect of the land described in the Schedule hereto, created by a notice in the New Zealand Gazette on 3 September 1970, No. 53, page 1575, are hereby redefined as a marae site and a site for a museum for the common use and benefit of the Maori people of Te Kao and the Maori people generally.

All that piece of land situated in Block XVI, Muriwhenua Survey District and described as follows:

1.0612 Te Kao 71D2, and being all the land contained in the partition order of the Maori Land Court dated 20 January 1970.

Redefining Persons or Class of Persons of Maori Reservation
Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to section 439 (5) (d) of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the purposes for which the Maori reservation was, in respect of the land described in the Schedule hereto, created by a notice dated 3 July 1969, published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 39, page 1226, are hereby redefined as “for the purposes of a meeting place, recreation ground, sports ground, church site, burial ground, place of historical interest and cultural centre for the common use and benefit of the owners and descendants of owners of Hirangi Marae being descendants of Turangitukua”.

Whereas, by notice in the New Zealand Gazette, 5 March 1981, No. 28, page 814, the land described in the First Schedule hereto was set apart as a Maori reservation for the purpose of a marae and meeting place for the common use of the Ngatimaru Tribe:
And whereas it is now desired to extend the reservation to include the land described in the Second Schedule hereto; now therefore, pursuant to section 439 (2) of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, it is hereby declared that the land described in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby included in the aforesaid Maori reservation.

3625 Part of the road declared stopped by notice in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 97, pages 2740 and 2741 dated the 17th day of November 1921, and vested in the owners of Rangititatau 1D5A, No. 1 by Order of the Court made on the 5th day of April 1988 as the same is more particularly shown on S.O. Plan 17608, a copy of which is held in the Maori Land Court at Wanganui.
