Notice of Intention to Hold an Inquiry into the Operation of a Continuous Taxicab Service Licence
To: David Selwyn Humm (referred to below as “the licensee”)
And to: The Secretary for Transport
Take notice that, pursuant to section 140 of the Transport Act 1962, the licensing authority for the Christchurch Transport District (I. P. Wollerman), will hold a public inquiry into the manner of operation of the service conducted under Continuous Taxicab Service Licence No. 27495, to determine whether it is in the public interest that the said licence, held by the licensee, should be revoked, suspended or varied.
The inquiry is being conducted pursuant to section 140 of the Transport Act 1962, on the grounds that, on information supplied to the Authority by officers of the Secretary for Transport:
-
A suspicion exists that the licensee no longer meets the criteria set out in section 124 of the Transport Act 1962; and
-
It is suspected that the licensee has failed to comply with the requirements of section 132 (1) of the Transport Act 1962, being a condition of Continuous Taxicab Service Licence No. 27495.
The public inquiry will be held in Christchurch on the 13th day of July at the Conference Room, Ministry of Transport, Christchurch at 2 p.m.
The licensee and the Secretary for Transport are entitled to appear and to be heard at this public inquiry, and may be represented by a lawyer or other agent. Any of those persons may seek further information regarding the inquiry from the undersigned.
Dated at Christchurch this 30th day of May 1989.
