Notice of Application for Approval of New Scheme

In the matter of a trust created under the will of James McKeeman, late of Oturehua in Otago, farmer, deceased; and

In the matter of a trust created under the will of Nancy McKeeman, late of Oturehua in Otago, spinster, deceased; and

In the matter of an application by the Presbyterian Support Services Otago, Incorporated:

Public notice is hereby given pursuant to section 36 of the Charitable Trusts Act 1957 as follows:

1. The purposes of two schemes approved by the Supreme Court at Dunedin on the 11th day of June 1946 (more particularly described in the First and Second Schedule hereto) are now considered to be impracticable and inexpedient.

2. A new scheme dated the 28th day of February 1975 has been prepared under the provisions in the above Act which varies the scheme described in the First Schedule hereto and provides for the income from “the McKeeman Fund” referred to therein to be applied for the purposes (if and so far as the same shall be charitable) of (a) assisting with the maintenance and improvement of the children’s homes of the Presbyterian Social Services Association, (now known as the Presbyterian Support Services Otago Incorporated) and of (b) promoting the material (including educational, mental and spiritual) welfare of such children as the Presbyterian Support Services Otago Incorporated shall deem to be in need of such assistance and in particular making grants of money, clothing or otherwise to or for the benefit of such children as the Presbyterian Support Services Otago Incorporated shall deem fit.

3. The said new scheme has been submitted to her Majesty’s Attorney-General for New Zealand and a copy of the said
