Declaration of State of Regional Civil Defence Emergency

Pursuant to section 51 of the Civil Defence Act 1983, I, Dudley H. Hawkes, hereby declare a state of regional civil defence emergency to be in force in the Hawke’s Bay United Council Civil Defence Region or in that part of the Region described hereunder.

Area extending in the south from the Whirinaki Bluff, north to Raupunga. In the west from the Palmerston North - Gisborne Railway to the East Coast.

The state of regional civil defence emergency shall come into force on the time and date of the making of this declaration or as hereby.

to be an acting District Court Judge, to exercise civil and criminal jurisdiction in New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the Children and Young Persons Court for a term of 12 months on and from 29 February 1988.
