Civil Defence Act 1983

Reappointment of Disaster Recovery Co-ordinator

Pursuant to section 69 (2) of the Civil Defence Act 1983, I, Michael Bassett, Minister of Civil Defence, hereby reappoint John Kinloch McKenzie as Disaster Recovery Co-ordinator for the East Cape Region for a term of 28 days effective from Tuesday, 5 April 1988.

The disaster recovery co-ordinator shall exercise the functions, duties and powers contained in section 72 of the Civil Defence Act 1983.

District Courts Act 1947

Acting District Court Judge Appointed

Pursuant to section 10A of the District Courts Act 1947, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint Trevor Robert Gillies, resigned District Court Judge of Auckland to be an acting District Court Judge, to exercise civil and criminal jurisdiction in New Zealand for a term of 12 months on and from 1 February 1988.

Acting District Court Judge Appointed

Pursuant to section 5 of the District Courts Act 1947 and section 21 of the Children and Young Persons Act 1974, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint Barry Neil Morris, barrister and solicitor of Auckland to be an acting District Court Judge, to exercise civil and criminal jurisdiction in New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the Children and Young Persons Courts for a term of 2 years on and from 5 April 1988.

Sharebrokers Amendment Act 1981

The New Zealand Stock Exchange Rules 1983

Present:

His EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

Pursuant to section 7 (3) of the Sharebrokers Amendment Act 1981, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby approves the following amendments to the Rules of the New Zealand Stock Exchange.

Rule 3.0312

Rule 3.0312 is amended by omitting the expression “$50,000” and substituting the expression “$100,000”.

Rule 6.05

Omit this rule and substitute the following rule:

“6.05 At all times during the period of his membership:

6.051 Every individual member who does not have trading floor representation shall ensure that his assets exceed his liabilities by such sum (not being less than $100,000) as may from time to time be determined by the Executive for the purposes of this rule;

6.052 Every individual member who does have trading floor representation shall ensure that his assets exceed his liabilities by such sum (not being less than $200,000) as may from time to time be determined by the Executive for the purposes of this rule;

6.053 The Executive may accept a guarantee as part of the member’s assets.

Rule 6.1031

Rule 6.1031 is amended by omitting the expression “$500,000” and substituting the expression “$1,000,000”.

Rule 6.1032

Omit this rule and substitute the following rule:

“6.1032 If the company has trading floor representation, the sum derived by multiplying $200,000 by the number of individual ordinary members of the Exchange who are the beneficial and registered owners of the voting shares of the company;

6.1033 If the company does not have trading floor representation, the sum derived by multiplying $100,000 by the number of individual ordinary members of the Exchange.”
