Vice Regal

Departure of the Governor-General Overseas and Assumption of Office by the Administrator of the Government

His Excellency the Governor-General, the Most Reverend Sir Paul Reeves, GCMG, GCVO, accompanied by Her Excellency Lady Reeves and with members of the Household in attendance, departed from Auckland at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, 13 April for an official visit to South Pacific countries. Their Excellencies will visit the Tokelau Islands, Western Samoa, Tonga, Cook Islands, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea.

Following the departure of His Excellency, the Chief Justice of New Zealand, the Right Honourable Sir Ronald Davison, GBE, CMG, has assumed the Office of the Administrator of the Government in accordance with clause XII of the Letters Patent constituting the Office of Governor-General.

Pursuant to section 19A of the Animals Protection Act 1960 and on the advice of the National Animal Ethics Advisory Committee, I hereby approve the code of ethical conduct submitted to me from the Ministry of Forestry.

as a member of the National Hydatids Council for a period of 3 years from 1 January 1988.
