EXPLANATORY NOTE—This exemption notice:

(a) Amends existing exemptions to make clear what goods are covered;

(b) Aligns existing exemptions with the Customs Tariff as amended; and

(c) Provides for exemption of rubber gumboots and goods of Tariff Chapter 98.

Note: Where it is necessary to amend an existing exemption, this is done by creating a new exemption and at the same time withdrawing the existing exemption. The first and third schedules relate to global exemptions and the second and fourth schedules cover exemptions under the ANZCERTA Agreement.

Pursuant to section 15 of the International Air Services Licensing Act 1947, notice is hereby given that Singapore Airlines Ltd. has applied for the renewal of its International Air Services Licence to operate air services for the carriage of passengers, cargo and mail between Singapore and New Zealand for a further 2 year period from 1 April 1988.
