Appointment of Member to the National Hydatids Council

Notice is hereby given by direction of the Minister of Agriculture that, pursuant to section 21 of the Dog Control and Hydatids Act 1982, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint:

Derek A. Breton, public servant of Wellington (officer of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries)

as member of the National Hydatids Council, and shall hold office during the pleasure of the Governor-General.

Marine Farming Act 1971

Declaring Area of Hokianga Harbour Not Available for Marine Farming Leasing or Licensing
(Notice No. 4297)

Pursuant to section 4 of the Marine Farming Act 1971, the Minister of Fisheries has made the following determination:

That the area described in the First Schedule hereto shall not be available for leasing or licensing under the Act.

The determination shall come into effect on the date of publication of this notice, and shall remain in effect until such time as it is revoked.

First Schedule

All that area of foreshore, seabed and water in the lower Hokianga Harbour enclosed by a line from Rangi Point (at 35° 27' 55" South and 173° 22' 42" East) to Koutu Point (at 35° 28' 23" South and 173° 24' 04" East), and a line between the harbour heads from North Head (at 35° 31' 28" South and 173° 22' 05" East) to South Head (at 35° 32' 05" South and Longitude 173° 22' 00" East).

Pursuant to section 11 of the Plant Varieties Act 1973, notice is hereby given that an application for a grant of Protective Direction and a grant of Plant Selectors' Rights as specified in the Schedule hereto, has been received by the Registrar of Plant Varieties. If it is considered that any interested person will be unfairly affected by the applications, that person may lodge an objection with the Registrar within 2 months from the date of this Gazette. Objections must comply with section 19 of the Plant Varieties Act 1973.
