northeasterly and easterly along the middle of that Road to a
point in line with the southeastern boundary of Rotoiti 15
Block, situated in NZMS 261, V16 Sheet 6.3, thence easterly
and northwesterly along the southeastern boundaries of that
Block to the northwestern corner of Part Matahina A1C
Block; thence easterly and southeasterly along the northern
and northeastern boundaries of Marahina A1C Block
aforesaid, crossing the intervening Murupara Branch Railway
and Pokairoa Road to the western bank of the Rangitaiki
River; thence southerly along the western bank of the
Rangitaiki River, Lake Aniwhenua and the Rangitaiki River to
the northern boundary of Karatia 3B2A2B1 Block situated in
NZMS 261, V17 Sheet 5.2, being a point on the northern
boundary of Murupara Borough, thence westerly along the
northern boundary of Karatia 3B2A2B1 aforesaid and it’s
production to the middle of Kopuriki Road, thence southerly
along the middle of that road to the middle of State Highway
No. 38, thence southwesterly along the middle of that road
and a Public Road to the northeastern corner of the
former Section 3 Block XVI Kaingaroa Survey District, thence
generally southeasterly along the generally southern boundary
of the Murupara Borough to a point in line with the
southeastern boundary of Lot 2 DPS 28038, being the middle
of State Highway No 38, thence southeasterly and easterly
along the middle of State Highway 38 and Whirinaki Road to a
point in the middle of the Whirinaki River, thence southerly
along the middle of that river, the Mangawiri Stream and the
Pukumatua Stream to the northern boundary of Te Whaiti Nui-
A-Toi Block situated in NZMS 261, V17 Sheet 6.3, thence
easterly along the northern boundary of that Block and
southerly along the eastern boundary of the aforesaid Block,
crossing the intervening Whirinaki River, to the southeastern
corner of that Block, thence generally southwesterly along the
generally southeastern boundary of Te Whaiti Nui-A-Toi Block
and its production to the middle of State Highway No 38,
thence generally southeasterly along the middle of that road to
a point in line with the southeastern boundary of Pt
Waiporepeo Block; thence southwesterly to and along that
boundary and westerly along the southern boundaries of that
Block to the Eastern Boundary of Part Section 1, Block X
Ahikereru SD, thence generally southwesterly along the
general northwestern boundary of Part Urewera A Block,
being Part Whirinaki State Forest Part Gaz 1984 p.643, to the
Mangamate Stream, thence southwesterly along a right line to
the point of commencement.

As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. MF
105 deposited in the Head Office of the Ministry of Forestry at
Wellington, and thereon bordered red”.

Tauhara Rural Fire District Order 1988

At Wellington this 28th day of November 1988

Present:
THE RIGHT HON. DAVID LANGE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

Pursuant to the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1977, His
Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the
following order.

O r d e r

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the Tauhara Rural Fire
    District Order 1988.

(2) This order shall come into force on the 28th day after its
notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

  1. In this order, unless the context otherwise requires, the
    “Act” means the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1977; the
    “Committee” means the Tauhara Rural Fire Committee; “the
    District” means the Tauhara Rural Fire District.

Part I — Constitution of the Tauhara Rural Fire District

  1. The area specified in the Schedule to this order is hereby
    constituted and declared to be a rural fire district to be known
    as the Tauhara Rural Fire District.

  2. The Tauhara Rural Fire District shall be administered for the
    purposes of the Act by a rural fire committee which shall be
    known as the Tauhara Rural Fire Committee.

  3. The Committee shall consist of seven members as follows:

(a) Four persons appointed by Tasman Forestry Limited by
writing signed on behalf of that company by one director and
the secretary thereto;

(b) Two persons appointed by and representing the Taupo
County Council;

(c) One person having territorial interests in the District
appointed by the Federated Farmers of New Zealand
Incorporated (Rotorua/Taupo Province).

Schedule

South Auckland Land District—Tauhara Rural Fire District

All that area in the South Auckland Land District, Taupo
County and Rotorua District containing approximately 46,060
hectares, bounded by a line commencing at the northernmost
corner of Lot 1 DP 19572, on the eastern side of Broadlands
Road situated in Block VI Takapau Survey District, thence
northwesterly along a right line crossing Broadlands Road to
and along the southwestern boundaries of two Parts of Lot 5
DP 26766 to the right (eastern) bank of the Waikato River;
thence generally northerly and westerly along the right bank of
that River to a point in line with the production of the western
boundary of Section 8 Block I Takapau Survey District, thence
northerly to and along that western boundary and its
production to the northern side of Tukiterangi Road, thence
generally westerly along the northern side of the said Road
crossing by right line Te Kopia Road, and the Waikato River,
to a point in line with the western boundary of Part Tahorakuri
3 Block as shown underlying on SO, Plan 52756, thence
generally southerly to and along the western boundary of the
said Block to the southern boundary of Section 14 Block III
Tatua Survey District; thence along a right line to Trig 9413,
thence southwesterly along a right line to the westernmost
corner of Section 2 Block VII Tatua Survey District, thence
southeasterly along the northwestern boundaries of part
Tahora Kuri Block to its intersection with the northern
boundary of Pokuru North Block situated in Block VI Tatua
Survey District, thence easterly along the northern boundary
of Pokuru North Block to the northwestern corner of
Tahorakuri Y, thence easterly and southerly along the
