Defence Act 1971

Appointments, Promotions, Extensions, Transfers, Resignations, and Retirements of Officers of the Royal New Zealand Navy

Pursuant to section 35 of the Defence Act 1971, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government has approved the following appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Naval Forces.

ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVY

The appointment of Commander R. H. Keeling is extended until 20 May 1992.

Commander Paul Anthony Stanley, B.S.C., is placed on the Emergency List of Officers of the Naval Reserves until 17 September 1992, with effect from 18 September 1988.

Lieutenant Commander P. A. Cozens to be acting Commander with effect from 27 June 1988, and temporary Commander with effect from 11 July 1988.

The appointments of the following Lieutenant Commanders are extended until the date shown:

  • D. J. Turner, B.S.C., 28 November 1994.
  • J. M. Marriott, 28 March 1994.
  • G. Clough, 1 June 1992.

Lieutenant Commander Douglas Thomas Scown is placed on the Retired List of the RNZN with effect from 19 July 1988.

Lieutenant Commander G. R. Buchan to be acting Commander with effect from 30 July 1988, and temporary Commander with effect from 8 August 1988.

The appointment of Lieutenant Commander G. C. Coller, M.B.E., is extended until 29 August 1997.

The appointment of Lieutenant Commander Jonn Edward Dudley is terminated with effect from 13 July 1988.

Lieutenant Commander Stephen Grant Ebrey is placed on the Emergency List of Officers of the Naval Reserves until 15 August 1990, with effect from 16 August 1988.

The appointment of Lieutenant Commander E. V. Good is extended until 19 May 1997.

Lieutenant Commander Peter Colin Atkinson is placed on the Emergency List of Officers of the Naval Reserves until 15 July 1990, with effect from 16 July 1988.

The appointment of Lieutenant Commander G. O. Harvey is extended until 9 August 1999.

Temporary Lieutenant Commander P. C. Redman, N.Z.C.E. (Telecoms), to be Lieutenant Commander with seniority and effect from 16 August 1988, and his appointment is extended until 22 December 1998.

The following Lieutenants to be temporary Lieutenant Commander with effect from the date shown:

  • D. I. Gubb, 15 July 1988.
  • K. J. Keat, 27 June 1988.
  • D. C. Henderson, 15 July 1988.

Acting Lieutenant Commander P. Sherborne to be temporary Lieutenant Commander with effect from 1 August 1988.

The appointment of Lieutenant (on prob.) R. G. Skinner to the RNZN is confirmed.

Temporary Lieutenant M. J. Harward to be Lieutenant with seniority and effect from 1 July 1988.

The following Sub Lieutenants to be Lieutenant with seniority and effect from the date shown:

  • D. P. Kirton, 15 July 1988.
