Traffic Regulations 1976

Approval of Motorcycle Safety Helmets in Terms of the Traffic Regulations 1976

Pursuant to subclause (1) of regulation 88 of the Traffic Regulations 1976* and pursuant to powers delegated to me by the Secretary for Transport by an instrument of delegation dated the 2nd day of November 1987, motorcycle safety helmets of the make and type described in the Schedule hereto are hereby approved for the purposes of regulation 31 of the said regulations.

Schedule

Safety helmets manufactured by Bieffe Helmets SRL, Italy, bearing the model designation B84 and bearing the certification mark of the Standards Association of Australia AS 1698.

Approval of Safety Glass

Pursuant to subclause (1) of regulation 88 of the Traffic Regulations 1976 and pursuant to powers delegated to me by an instrument of delegation dated the 1st day of October 1987, safety glass of the types described in the Schedule hereto is hereby approved for the purposes of regulations 73 and 73A of the said regulations.

Schedule

  1. Safety glass which complies with British Standard 5282 and is marked accordingly.

  2. Safety glass which complies with Japanese Industrial Standard R 3211 and is marked accordingly.

Approval of Seat Belts

Pursuant to subclause (1) of regulation 88 of the Traffic Regulations 1976 and pursuant to powers delegated to me by an instrument of delegation dated the 1st day of October 1987, seat belts of the type described in the Schedule hereto are hereby approved for the purposes of regulation 78A of the said regulations:

Schedule

(1) Seat belts complying with Australian Design Rule 4D and labelled or otherwise marked accordingly.

(2) Seat belts complying with Japanese Industrial Standard JIS 4604 and labelled or otherwise marked accordingly.

(3) The seat belts approved under subclauses (1) and (2) of this Schedule are approved for fitting in the front seat of vehicles to which regulation 78A of the Traffic Regulations 1976 applies (other than 4-wheel drive vehicles) for the use of the driver and any passenger who may occupy the sitting position nearest the opposite side of the vehicle to the driver only if they include dual sensitive emergency locking retractors in the case of any vehicle.

Transport Act 1962

The Traffic (Rodney County) Notice No. 1, 1988

Pursuant to the Transport Act 1962, a delegation from the Minister of Transport, and a subdelegation from the Secretary for Transport, J. Carne Maurice Clissold, Chief Traffic Engineer, give the following notice:

Notice

This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Rodney County) Notice No. 1, 1988.

The roads specified in the Schedule are declared to be closely populated localities for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

So much of the Traffic (Rodney County) Notice No. 3, 1987, signed the 22nd day of May 1987*, which relates to roads in the Schedule, issued pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 is revoked.
